Who Is Behind MyUSAgent?

                                        

Hi, I'm Maurits, the founder of MyUSAgent.


I was born in the Netherlands and moved to the United States at the age of 20 to pursue a career as a pilot. After completing my flight training at the FlightSafety Academy, I obtained both FAA and EASA Airline Transport Pilot certificates.

I began my professional flying career in 2016, flying medevac Learjets out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I later spent more than five years flying corporate aircraft, including Gulfstreams, Learjets, and the Pilatus PC-12.

Today, I fly the Boeing 737 for a major U.S. airline.

Having started my aviation career outside the United States and gone through the FAA certification process myself, I understand some of the challenges foreign-based pilots and other FAA certificate holders encounter when dealing with U.S. regulatory requirements.

That experience ultimately led to MyUSAgent.

Why I Started MyUSAgent.

 MyUSAgent started when a friend living in Mexico needed to designate a U.S. Agent for Service in connection with his FAA certification.

Because he lived outside the United States and needed a U.S.-based agent, I agreed to serve as his U.S. Agent for Service. He became MyUSAgent's first client.

The situation made me think about how I would have handled the same requirement had I still been living in the Netherlands.

There are thousands of FAA certificate holders around the world, and something as straightforward as maintaining a reliable U.S. point of contact for FAA service shouldn't need to be complicated or unnecessarily expensive.

That became the idea behind MyUSAgent.

What Does MyUSAgent Do?

 When you designate MyUSAgent as your U.S. Agent for Service, we provide the U.S.-based point of contact through which the FAA can serve certain official documents on your behalf.

If we receive FAA correspondence addressed to you, we:


  1. Notify you and send you a scanned copy by email.
  2. Hold the physical correspondence for 30 days at no additional charge.
  3. Give you the option to have the documents shredded, forwarded to you, or stored for a longer period.

How Do I Designate MyUSAgent?

 Getting started involves two separate steps:

  1. Register with MyUSAgent and provide the information we need to establish your service.
  2. Designate MyUSAgent with the FAA through the FAA's U.S. Agent for Service System (USAS).

Your MyUSAgent service costs $38 per year, subject to any applicable Price Match or Pro Rate Guarantee.
